new book

I just finished Philip Caputo's Acts of Faith. Douglas Braithwaite and Fitzhugh Martin start an airline to run supplies to communities in the Sudan. Joined by pilot Wesley Dare, they run medical supplies, UN workers, and reporters all in the name of helping people. A young woman from Iowa, Quinette Hardin, joins a christian relief organization and interacts with Douglas' Knight Air Services for supplies and support.
This is one of the best books I've read in the past couple months. The incredible characters, all motivated in the beginning by the desire to do good and change Africa. Africa moves and changed all of these people. The political corruption, intrigue, and war seems less a part of the plotline and situation and more part of the landscape. Each character has his weaknesses exposed and abused and all by the land itself. This book is definitely for fans of John le Carre's The Constant Gardener.
